Engravings is one of the most confusing systems in Lost Ark. Many players don't know how it works. So to help you learn more about this system, FarmGolds will cover some vital information about it in this guide.

What are Engravings in Lost Ark

Engravings are passive abilities that will make your character more powerful. And it can be found on accessories and Ability Stones. Engravings are divided into the following three types:

• ● Combat Engravings: they offer general buffs that can work on all classes.

• ● Class Engravings: they are the most powerful engravings. They can modify class-specific abilities and traits. In some cases, they can even change the way a class plays. But they can be used only in their respective classes.

• ● Negative Engraving: you want to avoid having these engravings in your build because they offer only de-buffs. They will reduce one of your characters’ four core attributes: Attack Power Decrease, Attack Speed Decrease, Movement Speed Decrease, and Defense Decrease.

How to Increase Engraving Points in Lost Ark

Each engraving has three levels of power. Each level requires 5 points to be unlocked. So you need 15 points to reach level 3:

• ◇ Level 1 needs 5 points

• ◇ Level 2 needs 10 points

• ◇ Level 3 needs 15 points

In the game, each Accessory or Ability Stone will have a randomly assigned value. So you can increase the level of an engraving effect by faceting Ability stones or equipping accessories.

Accessories: you can equip five accessories: one necklace, two earrings, and two rings. But the engraving points of the looted jewelry are assigned randomly. So a good way to get valuable jewelry is to sell your accessories to get Lost Ark gold, and then use this gold to buy the jewelry you need.

Notice: you can obtain 15 points before tier 3 and get 18 points in tier 3.

Ability Stone: they are similar to Accessories, but they can provide the biggest engraving points. They are some of the most powerful items in the end-game, with two positive Engravings and a negative one. These are referred to as Ability Improvement and Reduced Abilities, and they all start from 0. Before you upgrade them, they can be traded. So you can sell those stones you don’t need. To upgrade them, you need to talk with the Ability Stone Cutter NPCs, and then he will allow you to use sliver to try to upgrade them. Each upgrade gives you a 45% to 75% chance to unlock one point. Each time you fail, the chances of succeeding the next time increase by 10%. Each time you succeed, your success rate drops by 10%.  

Notice: you can obtain up to 18 points in the best case, and you might also have up to 9 points in negative engraving. But overall, using ability stones to increase engraving points is the fastest way.

Best Engravings in Lost Ark

1. Adrenaline

Lv.1 (Nodes 5): after using skills ATK, power +0.3% for 6s, stacks up to 6 times. When max stacks are reached, crit Rate +5%. If cooldown reduction due to skill cancel is applied to this effect, it is applied after the end of the skill.

Lv.2 (Nodes 10): after using skills ATK, power +0.6% for 6s, stacks up to 6 times. When max stacks are reached, crit Rate +10%. If cooldown reduction due to skill cancel is applied to this effect, it is applied after the end of the skill.

Lv.3 (Nodes 15): after using skills ATK, power +1% for 6s, stacks up to 6 times. When max stacks are reached, crit Rate +15%. If cooldown reduction due to skill cancel is applied to this effect, it is applied after the end of the skill.

2. Awakening

Lv.1 (Nodes 5): Awakening skill cooldown -10%. +1 maximum use.

Lv.2 (Nodes 10): Awakening skill cooldown -25%. +2 maximum use.

Lv.3 (Nodes 15): Awakening skill cooldown -50%. +3 maximum use.

Note: Awakening is one of the faster damage bursts. But each use consumes a chaos shard which costs 2k silver, and you need to buy them.

3. Grudge

Lv.1 (Nodes 5): damage +4% to boss or above monsters. Incoming damage+20%.

Lv.2 (Nodes 10): damage +10% to boss or above monsters. Incoming damage+20%.

Lv.3 (Nodes 15): damage +20% to boss or above monsters. Incoming damage+20%.

Note: It's vital for all DPS classes.

4. Raid Captain

Lv.1 (Nodes 5): outgoing Damage +10% of basic Move Speed bonus percentage.

Lv.2 (Nodes 10): outgoing Damage +22% of basic Move Speed bonus percentage.

Lv.3 (Nodes 15): outgoing Damage +45% of basic Move Speed bonus percentage.

5. Cursed Doll

Lv.1 (Nodes 5): Atk, Power +3%. Healing -25%.

Lv.2 (Nodes 10): Atk, Power +8%. Healing -25%.

Lv.3 (Nodes 15): Atk, Power +16%. Healing -25%.

6. Keen Blunt Weapon

Lv.1 (Nodes 5): +10% Crit Damage, but your attacks have a chance to deal damage -20%.

Lv.2 (Nodes 10): +25% Crit Damage, but your attacks have a chance to deal damage -20%.

Lv.3 (Nodes 15): +50% Crit Damage, but your attacks have a chance to deal damage -20%.
